The technology at the Liesikuja retail centre, located in Myyrmäki, Vantaa, had reached the end of the road. The property’s ventilation, heat distribution and lighting were modernised, but it soon became clear that the project would be unusually challenging. There was a lot of work to be done before optimal conditions could be reached in the building.

“There are often surprises involved in renovating old buildings, and that was the case here too,” says Veli-Matti Kotipelto, Asset Manager and Partner at Trevian Asset Management, which manages the property.

“Properly adjusting the heat distribution took longer than we would have thought, but after a difficult start, things have progressed very well. For that, we have to thank the LeaseGreen team, who have been proactive and solution-oriented. The project has most probably 0improved the building’s indoor conditions.”

The Liesikuja retail centre contains a gym, a dental practice and the Vantaa Parish chapel, among other operators. LeaseGreen carried out the property’s demanding modernisation project in 2015. After the completion of the investments, the building’s energy bill has fallen by 29 per cent from the level preceding the project, after eliminating the effects of variations in outdoor temperatures and energy prices to make the figures comparable.
